I received a message with some pretty good reasoning that Boom Blox and Metroid Prime 3 shouldn’t be part of the games that can be added as they have no multiplayer functionality. This hasn’t been the first time that I received these sort of hints so I’m thinking of removing them as well as any instances where any users have added either of these games to their library. Unless people provide evidence that overturns this, I will be removing these games by May 29.

I’d keep them — Metroid Prime 3 allows sending ‘friend vouchers’ to Wii System Board friends, used to unlock things like art and dioramas as well as the Snapshot tool.
Boom Blox the original allows sending created stages to friends using the Wii System Board. Boom Blox Bash Party, btw, also implements this (along with the server uploads/downloads which due to being server only, doesn’t use any friend codes).
Basically, both are using ‘WiiConnect24′ for their communications. Nintendo differentiates between WiiConnect24 (intra-game communications using Wii System Board codes) and WFC (games using in-game Friend Codes, even Profile specific — normally for when games can actually be played together or allow communicating with text or voice).
Some technologies that are available to devs: WiiConnect24 games (if coded by the devs) allow turning on the ability to advertise your game’s ownership to your friends… games like Big Brain Academy and Animal Crossing and Wii Music, as well as Wii Speak, do this, which is why these games can show you which of your friends have the game.
WFC games can allow WiiConnect24 to aid in exchanging the WFC codes. Mario Kart Wii and Conduit have implemented this, while the upcoming Guitar Hero 5 is making this automatic!
